HOLIDAY MINI SESSIONS :: SAVANNAH PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
August 27, 2010

It's almost September and that means time to start getting ready for Fall and Holiday portraits! This is my absolute favorite time of year. I have a mini session special available in the months of September and October, but dates are very limited. This year locations are in downtown Savannah at Forsyth Park and Fort Pulaski. I'm also adding a date for Statesboro at the GSU Botanical Garden. Email me at diana@lovelifeart.com to schedule your appointment.

INSPIRATION:: NY LOFT MEETS SOUTHERN COMFORT ~ THE PORTRAITS
August 27, 2010

Living and working in a city like Savannah where so much of our lifestyle and lives are lived in the parks, under the dappled light of live oaks, and reflecting across the salty coastal waters, we forget about the amazing architecture and indoor spaces sometimes. Ballroom on Broughton is one of those spaces -- flooded with window light and decorated with elaborate architectural mouldings, this space is stunning.

But I do so love the juxtaposition of our gorgeous couple in the urban sections of Savannah. What's not to love about these fabulous expressive moments. So much fun.

INSPIRATION :: NY LOFT MEETS SOUTHERN COMFORT ~ DETAILS
August 23, 2010

Details. Details. Details. Little touches go a long way in pulling together a theme and making ordinary, extraordinary. Seriously. I'm a detail addict and love weddings that find ways to make the details person and unique to their families. Emma J Designs came up with a fabulous paper palette incorporating the subtle stripe from the seer sucker suits and the classically elegant silhouette of the cameos. So classic, yet so fun!

Wedding Poppers was awesome enough to send us a box of their fun and eco-friendly mini-confetti canons. We had tons of fun with these and customized them with a wrapper to match our stationary. So easy. Tons of fun and great for indoor send-aways.

Speaking of fun and custom, here's our take on a destination wedding guestbook. Postcards displayed on a table for guests to leave well wishes. We used Savannah and New York City to fit our theme, but I can imagine lots of other unique alternatives.

How about a fabulous cake! I love the way Two Cakes mimicked the layers on the Vera Wang dress in the icing and whimsy of the flowers on this yummy cake.

Who says a traditional Southern wedding can't have sophisticated modern touches? Vicki and her staff at http://www.kiwifeur.com are simply fabulous with this approach! I love the use of succulents for an unexpected contrast. Stunning as always. Elegant. Love.

INSPIRATION :: NY LOFT MEETS SOUTHERN COMFORT - BEHIND THE SCENES
August 21, 2010

One of my favorite parts of the wedding photography industry is the spirit of collaboration and creativity that comes together.  Back in early Spring, I met with Morgan of Morgan Gallo Events and we quickly began planning an Inspiration Wedding project.  Pulling from some of Savannah's most talented wedding vendor's, we began collaborating with a no boundaries mindset. It was a great exercise to see what everyone would bring to the table when let "out of the box".  A special thanks is well deserved to my friend and fellow photographer Dylan Wilson who assisted me throughout the day and took some pretty rockin' photos too.  Please be sure to visit his website and comment on his photos as well.  I'm deeply grateful for everyone who participated and to Style Me Pretty for nice article featuring our story on the Little Black Book blog.

BleuBelle Bridal Salon provided a stunning Vera Wang wedding dress and Priscilla of Boston bridesmaids dresses. The seer sucker men's suits from J. Parker Ltd. made a perfect compliment for a traditional Southern fashion forward flair. I think I love bowties.

"Getting ready" photographs are never scripted but are always soft and sophisticated. Remaining unobtrusive is always key. Geoff and Dylan in action.

The fabulous Desiree and Jaclyn from Handpicked were on site throughout the shoot to assist us with styling. Their jewelry and accessories are fresh, fun and have a modern fashion forward flair. LOVE these flower necklaces.

Soft, romantic and fun. LOVE love. love.

NATALIE + MATT :: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ~ SAVANNAH PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
August 10, 2010

"Many are the starrs I see, but in my eye no starr like thee."
~English saying used on poesy rings

I had a great time shooting portraits with Natalie and Matt while they vacationed and celebrated their first wedding anniversary in Savannah. They drove down from their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. It's hard not to notice how insanely adorable they are ... no surprise they were high school sweethearts.

Hope you had a great visit to Savannah and you make it back for many more anniversary memories!
